Volunteer PC Operators

St Luke's Church in Hedge End

Volunteer Role Description

Volunteer PC Operators (AV Team)

St Luke’s have a strong tradition of modern and creative worship to lift our hearts, souls and hands to God in praise and wonder and inspire our spiritual growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supporting our worship services, we are looking to enlarge our team of PC Operators to work on a rota basis.  The team is to be led by a Volunteer Audio Visual Team Organiser who can also volunteer as part of the team.  The role involves loading the PC with the week’s service provided by the Service Leader and working alongside the Volunteer Sound Engineer at the sound desk operating the Church Laptop during services.

Skills

Basic PC skills including use of email, Word, Internet and SongPro (training will be given)

Time required

  • One Sunday morning per month, arriving in time to check the projection and make any last-minute changes needed (Generally arrive at 9am).
  • Setting up the service takes 1 – 2 hour, after the Service Plan and words are received from the Service Leader ( by Tuesday each week).
  • Approximately 30 minutes through the week to check email, liaise and make any changes necessary.

There are occasional events requiring PC support if volunteers are available (funerals, meetings plus additional services at Easter and Christmas).

Training

Full training will be given by the existing PC Operators,  who would be able to mentor and support until confident and proficient to provide cover alone.
