Volunteer IT Support (AV Team)

St Luke’s have a strong tradition of modern and creative worship to lift our hearts, souls and hands to God in praise and wonder and inspire our spiritual growth.  

Duties and Responsibilities

Supporting our worship services we are looking to enlarge our team of Sound Engineers and PC Operators to work on a rota basis.  The team is to be led by a Volunteer Audio Visual Team Organiser who can also volunteer as part of the team.  The Volunteer IT Support role is vital in providing the technical maintenance of the church laptop including software updates and keeping anti-virus software current.  There are in-church consultants available to support the specialised AV equipment.  The role is supporting the AV team and reports to the church wardens who also provide support for technical issues that are unable to be solved and need to approve any spend required.

Skills

Confident and competent IT skills – able to upload software to a laptop and problem solve.

Time required

Back-ups to an external hard disc required every 2 months.  Windows updates as required.  Flexibility needed to respond to the PC Operators when issues require action. 

Training

The outgoing IT Support Volunteer will be on hand to support and will give initial training in;- SongPro, the service software, and on the correct operating of the St Luke’s AV system.

Location                  

Laptop updates can be completed at home but some time may be required at St Luke’s Church Hedge End.
